What is The Bitwise?

Welcome and thanks for visiting! The Bitwise is an online journal featuring coding tutorials, projects, and conversations on careers in statistics, math, and data science.

The Bitwise is partially supported by NSF grant DMS-2103093. Any opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this material are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation.

Who are these posts for?

My goal is for everything on The Bitwise to be accessible to anyone with a high school level of math background. That means that if a post involves coding or technical material beyond that, you'll be able to find tutorials for those things in other posts on The Bitwise.

So If you're curious about data science or machine learning but aren't sure if you have the necessary background to get started, these posts are for you! If you're a teacher working with high school students or early undergraduates who are just starting to develop some of these technical skills, these posts are for you too!
